Poor John!

For once taking a risk and silencing his ever-conflicted inner dialogue, John squeezed his eyes shut and pressed his anxious lips to Sarah Sue's just as she opened the door, only to be met with distant gasps saturated with unabated rage and hurt. Convinced he should have left their lifelong relationship in the friend zone, John cautiously opened his eyes, to his shock finding himself staring into the crinkly botoxed peepers of Sarah Sue's mother. He caught only a brief glimpse of his former best friend and eternal crush fleeing into the depths of her standard center-hall colonial before being chased down the street by the more immediate issue of Sarah Sue's father's capable fist.

  1. And as it were, he finally kissed her, basking in the moment he had rehearsed so many times over in his head, while overcome with a feeling of something foreign, and warm, and wonderful. Afterwards, he waited there with her, slumped on the step, lost for once not in his own contemplation, but in a gentle, appreciative silence. Eventually, John turned, and with that, watched Sarah Sue go.

  2. Longing with regret, John finally kissed the lips of his beloved for the last time, as tears stained his cheeks, as isolation froze his veins, as if forever bound to the cold confides of space and time's ceaseless torment, yet his breath was still stolen by Sarah Sue, leaving him breathless in so many regards. His life seemed to dwindle away as he watched her leave as he sat upon the stairs, his essence dwindling away each step she took. A deep desire to rekindle their flame soon engulfed his being, and a brief moment of hope blazoned throughout his veins, for Sarah Sue's head cocked back and turned around, tears engulfing the perfect eyes that he fell in love with, staining both her delicate cheeks, as well as forever imprinting such a vision of utter inner destruction upon his mind; and with that, the flare between the couple was extinguished as if it never existed, though always resonating deep with the heart of John.

  4. The writer's eyes followed the creases of the neat ball of white lined paper his fists had molded; the words that crept along each mangled fold were anything but. He recycled each sloppily constructed vowel and consonant and channelled his ambitions towards something other than the previous clutter that composed his latest novel. The black ink erupting from his pen appeared to compose a symphony of familiar, but unintentional, words. His brain regurgitated each progressively disgusting and simple sentence: "John finally kissed her. Sarah Sue waited on the step as she turned to watch him leave." Romance? Clearly not his forté. He had dug ambiguous holes in his already clichéd plot that seemed to loosely plagiarize The Notebook. He had been dieting from his typical brooding, cynical, characters for far too long. Clearly, the silver seal denoting the Pulitzer prize was not going to be stamped on his paperback cover anytime soon...

  5. After a long day of frolicking in the Pride Lands, Kovu and Kiara each knew that there was no turning back. No matter what her father, Simba, said, nothing could tear them apart. They ascented Pride Rock, and stopped once they were in front of the alcove, where only the royal lions could sleep. After looking deeply into each other's eyes, Kovu finally kissed Kiara, culminating all the feelings they had felt for each other since they were but young cubs. Kovu stepped back, and waited for a while, continuing to look deep into Kiara's eyes. He then began slowly walking to where he had been sleeping, in the shadow of a rock that was relatively close to the alcove. Kiara began walking into the alcove, then turned around to watch Kovu get stettled on the cold, hard, rock. She didn't know how long she coul bear her father's obvious rebuke of Kovu. She turned back around, and sighed as she collapsed into an uneasy and restless slumber.

  6. After reciting the cliché-ridden poem he had dedicated the previous night to both writing and memorizing, a poem that told of the never before experienced allure and magnificence that Mary possessed, complete with a specific rhythm and a rhyme pattern that he recited with a type of school-boy pride, John went in for the highly anticipated kiss that would seal the deal. As John awaited Mary's response, he had not a fearful bone in his body, for John was certain she would forgive him for not knowing her favorite color, ice cream flavor, or flower, while receiving a pop quiz on his love for Mary the previous week. To his surprise, he was met with Sarah Sue's infamous cackle, the one thing no one could argue twins Mary and Sarah Sue had in common, causing John to turn around immediately and return home, leaving behind a respect for himself he, nor Mary, nor Sarah Sue, would ever hold for him again.

  7. After a seemingly endless pause, John finally brushed his lips against hers. She stumbled back in astonishment, as he immediately turned in unbridled fear, fleeing from the single most embarrassing moment in his young life. Sarah Sue gazed upon his scarlet face, startled yet still yearning for his presence by her side.

  8. Tearfully, John desperately kissed her bloody lips as she heaved with final breaths. He tried to make words come, to express his love before she died, but his mouth was as dry and parched as an African desert. Her eyes fluttered open, then shut for the last time. John buried his face in his hands, then grimly set his jaw. Tenderly carrying Sarah Sue in his arms, John walked to the sidewalk and set Sarah Sue in the blood-stained backseat of the white limo, gruesomely marked "Just Married" in the back window.

  10. John finally applied a bandaid to her head and kissed it. He waited awkwardly on the step for her to stop crying, the acorn had hit her hard. Sarah Sue screamed at him to call 911, and turned nervously to watch him leave.

  11. After months of cautious dating, John finally kissed Sarah with as much passion as a 13 year old can muster. He waited for what seemed like hours to see her response to their long-awaited kiss. After a smile and giggle from Sarah Sue, John happily walked away, while Sarah Sue watched him leave.
